Although this picture was
taken more than two years after the shocking tragedy, the enormous hole where
the World Trade Center used to stand, as well as the damaged buildings around
Ground Zero still testified about the events. The cross to the right was
erected to commemorate the victims (estimated around 2,750,
including people who perished in the Twin Towers, the passengers of the hijacked
planes, as well as firemen and policemen who died while trying to save people).
