The most valuable part of the Egyptian Collection. Discovered in Egypt, in the town of Rosetta (1799) by Napoleon's soldiers. The text was written by Egyptian priests praising the pharaoh's acts (196 BC). It was thanks to this stone that ancient Egyptian writing was finally deciphered in 1822. The same text appears in 2 languages but 3 scripts so that everyone might read them: Egyptian Hieroglyphics, Egyptian Demotic, Greek.
