South Kensington (by Hyde Park) has 3 major museums side by side all were built from the profits of the Great Exhibition of 1851: Natural History Museum (above), Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) and Science Museum. It is home to life and earth science collections comprising some 70 million specimens or items. There are five main collections: Botany, Entomology, Mineralogy, Palaeontology and Zoology.
