Windsor is 40 km West of London. It is the oldest continually inhabited royal residence in the world (11th -). The Round Tower was built under William the Conqueror (1070). The bastions and the walls were built in the 13th c. by Edward I. The last works had to be carried out due to the fire by St George Hall in 1992. King George V changed the name of the British royal family from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to the House of Windsor in 1917

The Round Tower is the oldest part of the castle.
