Most of the stained glass windows were removed (1790s) so the interior would be much lighter. The stained glass window at the end of the nave (in blue) is dedicated to prisoners of conscience throughout the world. Many of the shrines were destroyed with the bones scattered during the Reformation 16th c. (eg. the body of the first bishop of Salisbury, canonized in the 15th c).
