Left: Dove Cottage - William Wordsworth's Home in Lake District.

William Wordsworth was the poet who spearheaded Romanticism in English literature. He lived here with his wife, children and his sister receiving guests like Coleridge and De Quincey. Wordworth's birthplace and the larger house where he moved once his family. The interior is really worth a visit both for aesthetic reasons and if you are interested in what everyday life was like in the early 1800s. (A worthwhile history and literature lesson!)
