The childhood home of Queen Elizabeth I (1533-1603). Elizabeth was only 3 years old when her mother, Anne Boleyn was beheaded in the Tower for alleged infidelity (her real crime was not being able to produce a son). Much of Hatfield Palace was torn down and rebuilt in Jacobean style (early 1600s)
