Top left: O'Connell Bridge; The 1st bridge over the River Liffey in Dublin (1798). It is a square bridge, being as long as it is wide. Named after the great Irish lawyer and politician from the 1820s who achieved that Catholics could become Members of the British Parliament as well (Catholic Emancipation, 1829).

Bottom right: O'Connell's Street - One of the main arteries of central Dublin leading to O'Connell's Bridge. It was named after the 1st Irish Catholic MP in the British Parliament (1829). It used to have the most elegant homes in Georgian times most of which were destroyed by the British during the suppression of the 1916 Easter Rising. The General Post Office (headquarters of the Rising) is located here.
