This Norman stronghold stands on the banks of the river Boyne close to Tara, the ancient Celtic seat of the high kings of Ireland. It is one of the biggest castles in Ireland (1170s). Trim Castle was where the movie Lionheart was filmed (1995, Mel Gibson).
