The Scots were promised to have their parliament again by Tony Blair in his electoral campaign. (1997) When Blair won he declared a referendum

and 74% of the Scots voted (there is a strong correlation between the movie Braveheart and this very high percentage) to have their parliament back. After 300 years of no Parliament in 1999 the Scottish Parliament was opened by the Queen. It is on the Royal Mile, across from Holyrood Palace. Since September 2004 the official home of the Scottish Parliament has been a new Scottish Parliament Building.
