The Boston Tea Party in 1773 started a chain of events leading to the outbreak of the American Revolution and the Declaration of Independence. The replica of one of the original East India Company ships can be seen in Boston Harbor today. Tourists are offered a chance to re-live the Tea Party experience: they can throw crates into the water (they are visible next to the ship) just as the Boston Patriots did.
