This is a historic picture, because workers have since begun the demolition of the damaged 40-story Deutsche Bank Building, which was deemed beyond repair.  Construction of the foundations of the new Freedom Tower at the site of the World Trade Center began in April 2006, and it is expected to be completed by 2011. It is planned to reach a height of 1776 feet (541 m), which would make it the tallest building in the United States, overtaking Sears Tower in Chicago.
