The 87 m tall Flatiron Building is here seen from up close at the intersection of Broadway and Fifth Avenue. It is one of the oldest high-rise buildings in New York, completed in 1902, and received its nickname after its resemblance to old-fashion irons. Unfortunately, this picture was taken in 2005, while the building was undergoing renovation, hence the black scaffolding on the edge.
