Instead of the
traditional, multi-story design of most museums, Wright invented a continuous walkway
spiralling up from the bottom to the top. Paintings are placed along the spiral
and in viewing rooms opening from it. Although the originality of the breathtaking
design matches the avant-garde quality of the art works, some people think that
Wright’s building is not very suitable for its purpose (e.g.
the walls are not flat, and the pictures do not receive much natural light).
