Yellowstone National Park is the oldest national park in the world, created in 1872. It covers a huge area in Northwestern Wyoming as well as smaller areas of Montana and Idaho, with a total terrritory of almost 9,000 km2. One of the most famous attractions of the Park is its volcanic hot springs and geysers. The Old Faithful, seen in this picture, is nicknamed after its regular eruptions, since it shoots thousands of liters of boiling water 30-50 m high into the air roughly every 90 minutes.
