Henry V was born in Monmouth in 1387.  He is best remembered for the greatestcEnglish victory against the French in the Hundred Years War: Agincourt 1415. This beautiful bridge (13th c.) was already in place when Henry V was born and raised in the nearby medieval castle. Charles Rolls, the founder of Rolls-Royce, was also born here.
